Sorry for the lack of posts for a while... My computer was broken for a while and I recently started a new job which has been keeping me busy lately!

Anyway, the tour is well underway, and I will be bringing you photos, setlists and reviews for past and upcoming gigs over the next few weeks so keep checking back!

You Can Do Anything - Japanese Release Out Now

Last week the Japanese edition of You Can Do Anything was released. In addition to the regular tracks, it features the UK iTunes bonus track 'Pull The Plug' along with Always Right Behing You b side 'You've Got To Move'. It's a great opportunity to get the fantastic 'Pull The Plug' on CD, and Japanese releases make great collectors items for fans of The Zutons, as they come with the traditional 'obi strip' and an extra Japanese booklet.

If you are interested in picking up a copy, I recommend CD Japan (I've purchased all my previous Zutons Japanese releases from there!) which are selling it for just over £11 (plus postage).

Get the Japanese 'You Can Do Anything' here.

Setlist + Review of Q Hospital Club gig

As mentioned in the photos post, the gig last night was a full band acoustic gig (Zuton Fever had a bit of electric guitar from Paul, but other than that Dave & Paul played acoustic for the entire set). The setlist was:

Zuton Fever
What's Your Problem
Railroad
Put A Little Aside
You'll Never Catch Me Alone
You Will You Won't
Harder & Harder
Dirty Rat
Why Won't You Give Me Your Love?

Zuton Fever was played in the style of the acoustic version they released on the Pressure Point single, but with a small bit of the Zutonkhamuun riff and jam added at the end!

It was great to hear Railroad in full as I don't think they've done it since the Who Killed tours. I guess You'll Never Catch Me Alone must be a new song - unless anyone knows it to be a cover?

The new tunes worked very well in an acoustic format. Notable by their absence were Valerie & Always Right Behind You - maybe 'Always' doesn't work well acoustically, but Valerie certainly does so maybe they fancied a break from their most popular songs for this gig.

The venue was a small TV studio in the basement of the Hospital Club in Covent Garden (it's the place the 'From The Basement' TV show is shot), which held around 2-300 people.

Was anyone else there? What did you think?

Highlights from the gig are due to be broadcast on Q Radio at some point. I'll post on the site when I find out more details about this.

Photos from Q Hospital Club gig

Last night The Zutons played a gig for the monthly Q Magazine Hospital Club. It was a rare full-band acoustic gig. Below are a selection of photos I took at the gig. I'll post the setlist and a review later today.

Fan story

For those of you who haven't seen Vico's comment posted on the iTunes photos thread, I thought you'd be interested to read about his experience.

If anyone else has a similar story to tell, let me know. From my experience the band are always very friendly to fans and it's always a great pleasure getting to speak to them!

Hey mate, as i said in the forum, I was there as well. It was one of that days that I'll never forget.

I went there just to see if I could find some spare ticket. As I got there, I found Paul! Spoke to him, picture, autograph. Ok. A few minutes later, I saw I queue being formed. Some staff told me if I accepted to be part of the interview's audience, I'd get a free ticket!

When I was entering in KOKO, I saw Abi smoking outside. I left the queue to speak to her, and did the same thing I'd done with Paul.

Then this interview started with model Jodie Kidd, and then with Russ, Abi and Dave joined her. Actually you can find it on ITV2's website (or I think so), cause it was on TV yesterday. I could see myself lot's of time hahaha

Ok, then the concert began. This suport band played... And then THEY came. It was awesome! Their sound was perfect, man. I think I'll download their concert in itunes... The first time I'll pay for mp3! haha

As I can see in your pictures, it seems that you were on the front, or very close to. I was there as well, in the center of the very front.

Here are a few pictures, if you want (I made very very short videos as well, I'll post them later on youtube):

But ok. I thought to myself: "If they were so easy to get access, let me try again..."

I went to the not-main-door outside and waited. Spoke to paul and abi again. They remembered my name! I spoke to Russ as well. All of them were very nice to me.

When I was speaking to Abi, Dave appeared. She introduced him to me and then we chatted for a while. His girlfriend appeared (it must've been his girlfriend, because they kissed each other) and then she took a couple pics of us.

I stood there for a few more minutes, waiting to see Sean, but it never happened. I had to leave otherwise I would've lost my train to Sevenoaks.

And in the next they, at Somerset House, I was on the front again. Abi saw me and waved. Then Dave did the same during a song. When this song finished, he said something like that: "hey everybody, this guy here on the front is from brazil, his name is vico!!!". Man, it was crazy! He did it a few times haha. And said my name during a few songs as well, including Valerie (so I was hoping to some valerie's fan to post it on youtube, but there's nothing so far =/). And at the end of the gig, when the band came to the front of the stage to thank the crowed, dave took the mic and started shouting my name and the crowed followed him!

After the gig I tried to reach them, but the security staff didn't allowed me to =/

Sorry for writing this whole story, but you know, you might be a big fan, so you can imagine how I'm feeling. I'm going back to my country next week, so there couldn't've been a better ending for my staying in britain. I hope someday, I have the chance to thank them personally.

Cheers,

vico

Just thought I'd try out this flash player widget with an acoustic session version of Havana Gang Brawl, taken from an MTV session a couple of years back. Enjoy!

Zuton Fever is back!

I've finally got around to putting something back online. I had a few problems with the hosting of the old site and so it's been offline for a while. Don't worry, the full site will return in time, but for now I'm going to update this blog with news, videos, and any other interesting content I come across. Let me know what you'd like to see on the site!
